Homemade Pistachio or Walnut Liqueur (Meilach) Recipe

Miscellaneous Untried Recipes

This is from a collection of recipes from books I own, but which I haven't myself tried yet. However, you can have faith that at least the authors themselves have tried them, so they're not deadly or anything.

From Homemade Liqueurs by Dona and Mel Meilach:

Steed the raising, nuts and spices in vodka for 2 weeks. Shake occasionally. Strain and filter. Add sugar syrup. Mature 2-3 weeks.

That's a fairly simple recipe. If you want to add other spicing, just look for a recipe in a dessert cookbook for what people normally do to pistachios. If you use pistachio flavor extract, see the recipe for Pistachio Extract Liqueur.
