This is from a collection of recipes from books I own, but which I haven't myself tried yet. However, you can have faith that at least the authors themselves have tried them, so they're not deadly or anything.
[Real creme de prunelle is made with sloeberries; they're misusing the name here.]
Boil sugar and water together. When dissolved, remove from heat and allow to cool. Cut plums in half and remove pits. Add plums, wine, cinnamon, vanilla and vodka to syrup in a jar. Cover and let stand in a cool, dark place for 1 month. Rack or filter into final bottle.
