This is from a collection of recipes from books I own, but which I haven't myself tried yet. However, you can have faith that at least the authors themselves have tried them, so they're not deadly or anything.
Coarsely chop hazelnuts in a food processor. Put in 1-quart container, add vodka and brady. Steep 6 weeks.
Strain and filter. Optionally transfer to a clean container, stand 2 more days, and rack or filter again.
Boil sugars and water together, let cool. Add resulting syrup and vanilla (and glycerine if you're using it; if you're using food coloring, add one drop at a time, stirring in between, until you think the color is right) to the liqueur.
