Homemade Cherry Mint (Melach) Recipe

Miscellaneous Untried Recipes

This is from a collection of recipes from books I own, but which I haven't myself tried yet. However, you can have faith that at least the authors themselves have tried them, so they're not deadly or anything.

From Homemade Liqueurs by Dona and Mel Meilach:

Remove stems from cherries, cut cherries in half and remove pits. Crush cherries slightly. Crush cherry stones by placing them ina plastic or cloth bag and hitting them with a hammer. Place crushed pits and cherries in a quart jar. Add sugar and vodka. Close jar tightly and place in the sun daily for 1 week. Set jar in a cool, dark place for 4 weeks. Strain and filter. Mature for at least 2 months.

Optional flavorings: 5 cloves, 1/2-inch stick cubbanibm 1 pinch mace
