Grind the seeds with the back of a spoon and add to the vodka, soak for 2 weeks, then filter. do not sweeten. This is supposed to be drunk in one gulp after a large meal (and a suitable toast - after which everyone at the table drinks). A fancier version similar to Goldwasser can be made by adding anise seed and citrus peel - flakes of gold are optional. This was drunk in this fashion because caraway was believed to aid digestion and prevent flatulence. It's high alchohol content was common in the old days of liqueurs when they were considered medicinal, but I'm not sure if it actually works for any ailment. Enjoy!
