Homemade Cranberry Liqueur (Gnoza) Recipe

From Andrew Gnoza, posted to news:rec.food.drink

Mix one 12oz bag of fresh cranberries, 1 cup of sugar and 6 ounces of water in a pan. Boil until the skins pop ( 3 minutes or so ). Cool. Place mixture in a glass jar and add 18 ounces of 100 proof vodka. Let set for 7 days, stirring occasionally. After 7 days pour through a fine paper or cloth filter. Taste. Add more sugar if desired. Decant and serve.

When I smoke a turkey, chicken or ham I sometimes use this as a glaze or baste with it. Also good over vanilla ice cream.
